The snow geese roost all night in the water at Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge in New Mexico. On this morning, the colorful light coincided with their takeoff flight. This image is one of those that made up the First Place in the Photo Club Category of the Nature's Best Magazine 2007 Awards. It appeared in print in the magazine and was also on display in the Smithsonian Museum in Washington, DC through spring of 2008.
