A male white-tailed ptarmigan in summer plumage. We were thrilled to find these white-tailed ptarmigan on Mt. Evans that day. Actually, we would have NEVER seen them because they are so well-camouflaged. But a herd of goats was chasing them (yes, chasing) and thus we saw them moving!
